hey i will soon be getting an Evo, 350z, or bmw 330ci. ive been checking things on all of the cars. so far ive found out that the 350z will rape me with insurance costs and on stock internals its only safe to boost max 9PSI, so that car is out. the Bmw i just love them. my brother has a E46 325i, everytime i drive it i love the feel and smoothness of shifting, its not a fast car and i would only s/c it but its still a love of mine. now the Evo's i love because of the agressive look, the 4 doors, turbo, and AWD. awd is big for me because its been snowing alot in chitown area. but what is the max boost i can go on the stock pistons and block? i have no problem doing something like cams becuase i do not need to take the engine out. any help on some PSI numbers would be awsome

I see that you don't know much about the Evolution. The STOCK boost level is about 18psi and the stock engine can take up to 400hp WITH OUT any other internal mods. This is the best I4 engine that can make a lot of power.

The best I6 is from Toyota Supra that engine can make 700hp with out any internal mods.

so if your refering to yourself as a kid (or other people your age are kids) don't you think you should build into an Evo? or are your parents buying it? either way, thats a big liability for a "kid" just be safe man.

i will be buying it myself. ive spent countless hours working on my car and researching, and im going to an auto tech school for half the day at my highschool. im not going to be a mechanic tho. But there i will learn the right way, and safe way to do everything. i had to teach myself how to do everything from oil to brakes to audio systems to a full engine swap. i have no doubt in my capabilities in learning or teaching myself how to do and build up the evo to what i want it to be.

Im 20 years old,
I live in new zealand, and had no prievous claims or crashes ever,
The insurance on my 1998 EVO 5 is $2100 per year, with a $1200 excess if crashed, $1500 excess if stolen. When i hit 23, the excess goes down to $650, and when im 25, the excess goes down to $250, thats assuming ive made no claims.
My insurance is based on a 55% no claims bonus.
The ammounts ive said abouve are in NEW ZEALAND dollars.
hope this helps :)

ps: love my evo. SOOO WORTH THE COST TO INSURE

EDIT:
Monthly my insurance is around $240 - somewere in that mark
