 1995 L300 Auto Overdrive, What's the point?

Hi,

if any of you have read my previous post then you know that I think my auto gearbox is faulty.

I would just like to know why Mitsubishi built the L300 so it would not engage fourth gear (overdrive) when cold. IMO it just damages the engine revving at high RPM's.

Is there any way to bypass this so overdrive will engage when the engine is cold?

You could just locate the temp sensor on the block and pull it off. It should work fine like that, if it needs an earth then do that but i think it should work without. :)
