Hello: I own a 2004 Galant LS. I just realized after going through my manual that the Galant should not tow trailers (refer to 4-10 in the owner's manual).

The car has a 3.8L V6 with over 230 hp and it's saying it can't tow a trailer- I just assumed that it would be able to considering the size/power of the engine.

Great....anyone ever try it??

Poeple do it. How big of a trailer, and how much it weighs is the major deciding factor. If you want to tow a 4 wheeler, or a snowmobile or a small pop up camper you'd be fine. It's just harder on teh tranny and you'd probably want to consider installing a tranny cooler for best results.

Thanks for the reply. I'll speak more to a dealer about the potential risks around the tranny.
