60 water/40 antifreeze will be the best cooling for your area. Water actually cools significantly better as compared to antifreeze. but water is more corrosive..

if it does get hot quick, check your water pump. the impeller may not be spinning quick enough to pull enough coolant through the engine. also, might as well check your thermostat.

also, check your electric fan on the radiator. Does it come on at all?

sound like an air bubble in the cooling system. Did you bleed the whole system

This happened to me, after bleeding the cooling system the problem went away. I noticed it while getting my smog test. When it would heat up we would have to rev the engine a bit then the temp would drop back down to normal...

Hope this helps - dont take my word for it though im still a noob :)

Well I do have my momments of brilliance B) But this isnt one of them :imsorry:

For me I just opened up my radiator cap made sure there was coolant, in the radiator and the overflow... then let it run for a while having my wife run it at 2K. After it warmed up I continued to watch it and filling it as needed....

Ever since shes been good...

But it sounds like your issue is more in depth than mine

I do have a question:

If you give it gas while its just sitting there does it go down as well or only when you get going? (dont have a turbo so I am not sure if thats implied when you said let the turbo spool up)

One of my prior cars had an exhaust leak and it was causing the car to overheat while i was sitting still but once I got going the air would push the hot exhaust away from the engine... Long shot but another thing to add to the bottom of the list... Good Luck

I had a car that would over heat about twice a week for about a month. Then the radiator took a dump on me.

You need to catch the engine coolant and dispose of it. It is toxic and will kill any pets you may have. I got it in a cut once and ended up in the hospital because it got in my blood.

It is also slippery as ***.
