I would s ay they would replace it with a brand new car the problem is if anyone is puuting on any aftermarketarts on it will be apain in **** for them for example like me. If they do recall it would only happen in couple of years. The thing that i personally dont understamd. If they knew they had a problem with the car when it came out why they dint fix in other cars that were being made. For example i got my car of January 07 and the problem was not fixed relay problem . Cmon they had more then e nouph time to fix it what were they waiting for.

Haha, it might be because I said something in another thread on the lines of "I wouldn't be surprised if they did a recall"... I only said that because I believe the manual transmission is faulty and I nearly got smoked at an intersection casue it wouldn't pop into second gear.
That's something that can be fixed though, and they WILL be fixing it cause I don't wanna die.

Now if they would in fact recall our Lancers I do believe in a situation like that they would be replacing them with new vehicles. But that would depend what the recall would be based on, if it was missing a bolt in a frame where it should have been bolted, or a weld or something they would probably just fix it and return the vehicle.
Just like the situation with the relays or the unsafe rear doors which pop open on impact that in fact were fixed with after the first production line (or somewhere around that time). I mean the doors were fixed, I dunno why they didn't fix the relay, probably didn't find out about it till recently.

But by the way things are going with these cars I can see more issues popping up every now and then... as unfortunate as it is that's just how she rolls. They (and I don't only mean Mitsubishi) want to get new cars out there, so they do. And if they are faulty then they're SOL and have to fix the issues as they happen...

But if there are things mechanically wrong with the car (i.e. the m/t) and they're persistent through all vehicle they will HAVE to do a recall. But I'm not saying that's true and is going to happen.

the first car i owned was a 2000 rav4 then i traded it for a 2002 rav4 and then i bought the lancer november of 2007. from 2000 until 2002 until this point i've never had any problems(just minor) with both rav4's nor have i heard of anyone having major problems with them like the car just dying while being driven. the lancer on the other hand i've seen loads of people with problems in 4 months that ive been trolling/posting here. seeing how its a completely new engine and whatnot and seeing how all these cars are experiencing problems, i'm a little paranoid with recalls and watnot. and then there's rox saying what he said lol.

jaeGTS - sorry to hear that. Unfortunately nobody beats the quality of Toyota/Lexus. There are multiple sites with reliability reviews for cars, including the famous consumerreports.org which would show you reports of past Mitsu models and their problems and give you general idea of what to expect out of your lancer. Mercedes would have been in a dealer 10 times by now getting problems and recalls fixed, trust me on this one. But people still by them for status. I bought the lancer for status (different status thatn benz lol)/aggressive looks/and future performance possibilities. Im not trying to justify Mitsubishi as a company, but the reality is that this is why Toyota/Honda and even Hyundai are now top selling cars in the world.

Man, you're dreaming if Mitsu is going to have a huge recall or trade up our cars. They are the worst when it comes to scandals and cheaping out. They screwed me around big time on my car with faulty relays, fake consumer rebates and shipping dates. You know what i got, a friggen parts credit?? not even a response to my letters. They don't care. All we can hope for is more "Service Bulletins" or a class action lawsuit when someones transmission explodes, lol.
