Hey everyone im new here. & im on the market for a new car w/ turbo. Ive got appoximately $9k to spend. As of now im stuck between a 98-99 gsx or 94 rx7. Id like to know which is more reliable & makes a better DD yet can be very quick. I know this is a mitsubishi forum so most ppl will say gsx but please be serious & dont jus say gsx cause you own 1. Thank you

You will shoot yourself in the head multiple times over if you try and DD a Turbo RX7. Am I bias, no, I would take an RX7 over just about any car but I don't have the resources to rebuild that rotary motor every 10,000 miles.

Ask any RX7 owner, it is not a DD car, heck if you don't keep up with the GSX in regular maintence it won't last very long either.

The problem with the RX7, actually all rotary motor is that the seals go bad because people don't warm them up and let them cool down correctly.

Why would you buy a car that gets the same fuel milage as a v8 yet has 170bhp stock.............

but there is a reason you here that the RX7 is a 10000mile car. the engine doesn't hold up as good as a GSX under regular driving. if you don't know a lot about cars, get the GSX. (and i don't own one either)

But if you have the time, money, and know how to drive an rx-7, it would be a blast to drive :)

true, but what person with time and money looks for an old car to build up? (i under stand there is a few out there) but most people with money would just buy and Evo or an STI, something already fast. but poor people (me) but older cars that can be built up slowely over time (gsx/gst)

The turbo RX7 is not a slow car.

Ask this same question on an RX7 forum.

With 9K to spend i would not be looking for a GSX or a '94 RX7. Like EMC3000 said..i would be looking for a newer car that already has power...like an EVO or a Subaru STI.

Nah with 9k thats a good amount to have for a GSX. You know 6 -7 for the car, 1 for maintenance (I cant spell) 2 for beer

Yet again

Why not spend the money you could on getting a v8 into a small light car as apose to spending the money to fix the **** rotary motor every 10,000mines.....

Will say a 350 vs a Rotary motor..............

I'd take a 350 over a Twin turbo anyday.....

rotary is a great engine look at it how much lesser moving parts it has compare to a piston engine. the bad thing is, when coming to fix it. its going to be a pain, its like 99.99% knows how to fix piston type engine as where .1% is rotary.
