I've been on the waiting list for almost a year now. However, I've been number 1 on the list and acquiring the only allocated Skyline coming to this dealership. The first production year will be approximately 2,000 units nationwide (that's, 1 or 2 at most per dealership).

So anyhow.. my plan with it:

Hold a large public event at the dealer (after it arrives) along with entertainment, catered food, etc. on behalf of Sport Compact Customs and the Dealership. I would take silent bids on the vehicle (lowest bid being the final sales price on the car).

Highest bid would take the car home.

I would take however much profit is remaining
(i.e. HIGHEST BID - SALES PRICE = PROFIT) and split that amount 47.5/47.5/5.

Meaning -

47.5% of PROFIT to Charity of my choice (Welcome !)
47.5% of PROFIT to Sport Compact Customs
5% of PROFIT to dealer as concession for hosting the event

Not only would I be providing a great charitable contribution to a local organization that rescues animals, but I can also write off that amount as a deduction to defer taxes on the profits. If the dealer opposes, then I have several alternate plans I will attempt to execute.

Either way, just another 6-9 more months. :) I already have a developer who has started the flash programming for the site I plan to stand up for the event at www.dreamgtr.com

THE BUYER WILL RECEIVE THIS VEHICLE AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER, FULL WARRANTY, AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE COMPLETELY FACTORY WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATION.

With each dealer getting only 1 or 2 at most (1500 isn't much nationwide) - and waiting lists going past 50 per dealer, I doubt you'll get your hands on one without buying someone out.

nice, are you planning on doing any custom work on its interior? or doing a custom body kit? HID lights for it should be a must. how about powder coating the rims? i mean yeah its a nice car stock, but tossing in a few grand to dress it up won't hurt it either. you could call it a 09 SC-CUSTOMS limited edition Nissan Skyline, or something like that.
kind of like the Harley Davidson special edition ford F-150. get a chrome badge that you can mount onto the car made up that says Limited Edition SC-CUSTOMS. that'd be sexy bro!

i mean thats just a thought.

Considering theres only going to be 1500 brought over here to begin with, I'm pretty sure its a safe bet nothing has to be done to make it "more special"

im kinda with syke on this one. i see nothing wrong with a car modifying biz modifying a car for an auction. it sounds logical. hell, if modified correctly, which im completley sure Customs is capable of doing, then it might bring more than the stock GT-R. in the end, its not whats being auctioned off for charity that counts, its how much $$$ is brought in that counts, when charity is concerned. i understand that its being sold as-is, with no modifications, and im not saying it should be modified, im simply saying that its not an unreasonable assumption for someone to make.

just because he assumed it would be modified before being auctioned off is nothing to really flame him about.

People purcahsing these cars are doing so from a collectors standpoint, which mean - keep it the way it is. The car is not being sold as-is, the highest bid will be the first owner of the vehicle which will carry the full warranty from Nissan.

I'm not going to take a 100k car and "modify" it which will only steer away those who want the car the way it is and further reduce the targetted audience interested in pursuing this vehicle - that would be the most foolish business decision I could make for 2008.

You have to understand that if he even changes the wheels the warranty is gone this will drastically reduce the highest bid, I know this for a fact, I used to do auctions.

The cause of this auction is to raise as much money possible for the charity. From that stand point nobody in their right mind would want to lower its potential value by adding some sort of modification.

Case in point Bueshur racing 400 AWHP EVO All receipts everything Low miles Beautiful car new clutch the works. 23,000 8 months later it sells. During that time at least 8 other Evos were sold with double the mileage for 21,000

I'll say it again Modifications on any vehicle no matter who or how good the reputation is of the shop, will always lower the value of a car.

Go look at supras the bone stock ones are the same price as the heavily modded ones. And I bet you'd buy the stock one.
