I was reading the user manual to verify the city lights bulb type so that I could upgrade to LEDS when I realized that most of you guys are replacing that "WY5W 5 watt" bulb with 194's or 168's?? Can someone explain why that it?

Okay, I did some reading and it turns out the WY5W bulb is the (ECE) European designation for a yellow 194/168 American bulbs. Apparently it is actually brighter then the 194/168 bulbs.

The W5W bulb is a white version of the WY5W. When checking out LED replacements, some websites stated 194, 168 and W5W interchangable so I guess that means the white LEDs will replace all of those, lol.

I did read though that the 168 has different amperage rating then the 194, apparently it burns out faster. anyway that's what I got.

Question remains though, do the LED's overheat the headlight housing?

Won't heat the headlight housing any more than the stock bulb.

To answer your question Lonnie,

I used these for my citylights

But you can use the following also

or
