I've got a 1992 Mitsubishi Montero that at time of purchase had a Lazerlok alarm system installed. Now we stopped using the system a long time ago (we just use the power locks). I've still got the remote fob but it doesn't seem to work even after a new battery was put in the remote.

Now everything was fine until I recently had a new car battery installed, after the old one died, and upon installation it alarmed the car. The problem is that I have no way to disable the alarm and start the car. We actually have disabled the sound but still with no way to disengage the alarm system we can't move the car. Oh, and the alarm company doesn't seem to still be in business.

I'm not a real handy car person in general. We're gonna follow up with the dealer and a local aftermarket accessories place, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or similar experiences. Help?
