i have been watchin movies on youtube and *** and i see that when some people street race before they take off they hit the rev limiter a ton of times then pop the clutch. i thought this would do damage to your engine like hard core but am i wrong??

It's nowhere near as bad for the engine as it is transmission.

And bouncing off the rev limiter actually hurts your launch because it cuts your fuel off. The best thing to do is hold it about 500 under the rev limiter.

Peeling out in no way is the best launch. You need to get the right rpms just before lost traction and then floor it. Do you ever see any pros at a drag strip peeling out at the line? NO. It is a foolish thing to do in a real race. Also, the only use of a burnout is to warm up the tires which is only good for racing tire...I think R-compound. With street tires, there is an optimal temperature for them to work under and doing a burnout is detrimental the majority of the time.

Keep in mind they have drag tires. Racing slicks. and tires about that are twice as wide as yours. Its not that they just aren't peeling out at the line, its that at the line, its rather difficult to peel out (unless you're talking like 500+ hp)

The point is that peeling out actually slows you down in the long run. It just looks cool

If your wheels are spinning faster then your car is moving you screwed your launch up.

Try launching at a lower RPM.

And why are you double clutching?
