QUOTE(obibok @ May 26 2008, 11:24 PM)
Here is how to convert MPG to L/100km:
235.214584328 / X [MPG] = Y [L/100km]

...and the other way around:
235.214584328 / Y [L/100km] = X [MPG]

Now, everybody
*

why not let google do it:

type in the search box

X MPG in L/100KM

or any other combination you wish

et Voila

Just call me grandma!

Last couple of tanks I averaged a click under & a click OVER 38 for the whole tank.
No BS, no lyin'...
It can be done.......
Be prepared to drive 50-60 @ a constant rate....boring yes, but your mileage will jump up. Coast to stop signs/lights. Start up slower than slow & whola.....less often trips to the pump.

You don't love me.....you just love my granny style

I just got 32mpg with my engine still not fully broken in (a tad over 1050miles). I'm driving "granny" style ) driving strictly at the speed limit and using cruise control on the highway) and using (at least, I think I am) the DFCO of my engine (that is, slow down using the engine, even braking in gear).

Laying off the brakes helps a LOT! I'm not even joking... I started coasting to stop signs and lights (like SixFeetDeep said) and I'm getting 20MPG in the city as opposed to 17-18MPG.

Which brings me another question about down shifting... but that's for another topic... which I'm gonna post RIGHT NOW!

i got 28.5 a gallon today driving from humboldt county to bay area on the 101 going 70-75 mph on the roads with 65 limit but going 40 and 55 on area with 40 and 55 limit. i did manual calculation and i got the same result as the digital reader in the car.

then driving from the bay to LA on the 5 freeway, i got 27.8 miles a gallon driving 80-85 all the way but it might not be accurate cuz i forgot to reset the mileage so i couldnt do manual calculations and im too lazy to do the math.

From 27-29 mpg it's a 50-50 driving city and highway, but I tend to always drive 70-80 mph on the highway

After topping off the tank to the tip top....using 89 octane this time around....driving put put style....I just hit the 1/2 way mark & I went 337.8. I would have gotten more than that but I have been doing city driving for the past 15 miles.
Still....I keep pushing it & I'm getting great results. Last time I did this I averaged a click over 38 for the whole tank!

I drove from Mt. Airy to Darnestown, (I doubt anyone knows where that is) but its a good 30 mile or so drive, no highway all roads that change from 30-40-45-50 and back, well i got 32.7 mpg on the dashboard and couldnt get it any higher without going granny. But i have to say just seeing those numbers makes ya smile. I want to see how many miles ill get for 3/4 tank when it runs out. (didn't have it filled to the top) and i never knew til now that the fuel pump has a sensor lol, never wanted to see for myself because i didnt want gas shooting everywhere, obviously this is why the sensor is there. But now i can fill to the top for $50 lol.

Well.....time to refuel again.....500 miles on the head & exactly 14 gallons to the tippy top.

35.71MPG overall for the tank.

That figure would have been better, but I got stuck in some bad stop & go for almost 40 minutes. So I am sure that I could have been kissing that 37+ mark again.
