hi wayne thanks for the reply, i already took the throttle body off last week because when i bought the car it wouldn't start! i gave it a good clean also the inlet manifold, i got the car started but it won't idle especially when it's in gear, i drove it today and the engine management light came on and then i had no brakes aswell as acceleration?? the throttle body motor also buzzes contantly when i accelerate so i think the motor is knackered? any suggestions

unfortunatly there are common problems with these throttle bodies, im guessing the engine light would give a code regarding throttle valve feedback fault which would indicate a major fault with the throttle body, there is a magnet inside which falls apart causing all sorts of problems including irratic idle cutting out loss of brakes and engine light coming on!!

I am having the same problem with my car. It started 3 days ago. The mechanics here at work are going to look at it for me. They seem to think it's the Mass Air Flow Sensor. They just showed me where the idle control is, it's behind the throttle up by the washer canister.

the two coolant pipes for the throttle body, does it matter which way around they go?, they are situated on the front of the throttle body, and i put the one coming from behind the throttle body on the right, and the one coming from the side of the cylinder head on the left hand side, would this be correct or not matter as i blew down both holes and it flows through both holes?? i just put them on the ones nearest it's just i bought a new throttle body and it's slightly different where the pipes need to go.

yeah it's the genuine model, the difference is the coolant pipe connections the old one had the inlet at the back and the outlet on the bottom front?, but the new one i got are both at the front facing the same way. apart from that they are the same, it runs great but was a bit concerned that is may overheat if the pipes are the wrong way around but i don't think it matters?
