Have a 1985 Dodge D-50 that has about 1,500 miles on a rebuilt 2.6 lt 4 cyl Mitsubishi. I thing the problem is the head. I bought in on E Bay for
$185.00. It was sold as just having a valve job.
After it warms up for a few mininuts it starts blowing white smoke. It will go away driving, but if you idel for to long it will start smoking again.
I replaced the jet valves (found one bad o ring on a jet valve) with solid slugs and new o-rings.
But still smokes. This head came with t stripped threades on the exhaust side. When I pulled the cam gear installing the head it looked like the some one used a pipe wrench to turn the cam. Then the cam bolt threads stripped out
I think the guy I bought it from did not replace the valve seals and now I have oil going past the seals.
Can any body tell me what causes white smoke?

sounds like you have a leaky head gasket or possibly a cracked head, either way it has something to do with enough engine coolant reaching your pistons to burn off and cause the smoke, i would pull the head back off and check your head gasket, or your head for cracks.

You are the only person with a mitsu steam engine!!!!Seriously though the above post is or was correct to my knowledge
