OK , there are a number of resources on the net , but the best one for you would be http://www.starquestclub.com/index.pl?action=boardindexAll starions & chrysler conquests sold in the US ran the 4g54 2.6 astron engine , with various power outputs and options from 84 to 89. We were lucky in Australia , all our starions had the mighty 4g63 , but in 8v SOHC. In the UK and Japan , you can get either engine configuration. I believe with the US starions , the later models produced more power , but it would be best to talk to the guys over at the starquest club. Hope this helps... :57:

Yes , I stand corrected , G54b , although essentially they are the same engine anyway. In australia , they DID come std with the 4g63 , in fact that was the ONLY engine available and with that engine , 125kw was available without intercooling (remember , back in '82 this was a lot of grunt. Our local 5.0 ltr V8 commodore had exactly the same power output , but did not perform like the Starion !!!) I have a hard time getting 4g54 out of my head , as I've had a Sigma 4G54 and currently own a magna 4g54. With nothing more than an intercooler , and an angle grinder , these starions can easily get into the 14 second bracket , not bad considereing they are not really geared for acceleration , but more of a track gearing (long legs).
As for the long throw shifter , cut it down or get a quick shift kit.

Yes , Magna manifolds are a dime a dozen over here , the magnas were a very popular car. That document is from the UK starion web site , and there are some great ideas in there. The Starions may not be as fast as current WRX's and evo's , but their top end performance is a bit freaky even by today's standards (esp with a 3.545 diff ratio). With a little work they can more than hold their own against modern turbo cars , and they are basically set up as a track car out of the box. What more could you want in a car , performance , luxury , and ready to play with.

I have been thinking of buying a Starion, but im alittle unsure about it, as there is not much info around.
What im unsure about is: They are RWD? Which engine do they have? Im from Europe, and those around is 2.0 turbo. How well build are they? Can they take some beating? Not like drag race every day, but you know. How easy is it to get like 200hp or more? Do they have carburettor or EFI?
Answers would be greately appreciated..
