Lol, I'm seeing that some people are having fun with this.

Anyways, normally what I do is while exiting, I turn to the side and have my left leg touch the side metal of the Lancer while the foot is on the ground, I don't get big shocks from doing that. =D

HMMM you people must not be very nice to your cars, i NEVER get shocked and its always dry here in Australia. I find talking to your car and giving it PREMIUM petrol (gasoline) helps get on its good side :P

people, there is a simple and easy way to avoid getting shocked. you often see middle aged men getting out of high end pasta rockets wearing these. we in the automotive circuit call them driving gloves. use them when you drive and when you get out of your car shut the door then take the gloves off and put them in your back pocket. simple and easy fix. any new friend riding in your car will ask you why your wearing driving gloves, and when he gets out of your car and gets shocked and says, "ouch!" you reply, thats why dumb a**!
LOL

Down where I'm from there are some thin rubber strips for sale that are in constant contact with the ground attached to the car's body (imagine a strip like an 18 wheeler mudguards, only really slimmer).
They ensure that no static electricity is discharged to you when you get out since the strip completes the circuit to the ground rather than you. I'm amazed they don't sell them here,

BTW, my car doesn't zap me, but we're having a hell of a wet weather in S. FL too...
