I did get the dash kit installed, took about 5 or 6 hours. Fit and finish is ok, texture is off, much smoother than the rest of the dash. Color is close, but noticeably different.
I did deviate from the instructions and found 1 glaring omission. The step omitted involves a ribbon cable that runs from the oem control panel to the circuit board for the flasher switch etc. Instructions make no menton of it, if it is cut, it will probably be impossible to re-connect the oem stereo. I was able to remove it without cutting, but it would be difficult to tell how I did it.
The instructions say to attach the din cage to the dash panel, then install the panel. That looked like it wouldn't be enough support, so I looked for alternatives after removing the stock equipment. I was able to attach the JVC to the oem brackets using holes that were already drilled and tapped by JVC in the side of the chassis. I had to drill one hole in each oem bracket. Took a little longer but the unit is well supported and cannot be easily removed by thieves.
All in all, it looks ok, sounds great, plays WMA files and has HD radio built in. The only thing I miss are the steering wheel volume controls and the extra large buttons on the OEM control panel.
DSCN3183 shows the ribbon cable I mentioned after it was unplugged.
