1992-93 Mitsubishi Space Wagon its starts runs for a few mintues then theres this clicking sound coming from under the passenger side dash then the car dies!

Runs good when idleing but when put under pressure (e.g. driving) starts to chug and falter then dies with clicking sound coming from under the passenger side dash.

I have had this problem for 6 months and have tried, had the ECU tested by a Mitsubishi dealer, replacing various sensors, Had the head block skimmed, new camshaft, new distributor, new spark plugs and leads.

Whilst reading posts on www.mitsubishi-forums.com found an article about the ECM/ecu relay under the glove box so i checked this out and right beside it is the ECU so i managed to find a wagon in a scrap yard near me and got another ECU but there were no ECM/ecu relays so i fitted the new ECU it is a newer unit than the one i have and it has cured my problem at last.

If you have or are going to get ur Ecu Tested by a Mitsubishi dealer please be aware that although the dealer may say its been tested they probably didnt mine was 'tested' but when i opened it up to see for my self the board had been very poorly repaired and the soldering work very poor.
