Can you prove that back in the 1976 safari rally, the A73 coltlancer uses a 4g63? To my knowledge the 4g63 is developed in 84' for the evo. Moreover the galant VR-4 came out as early as 85' but nowhere near the 70's.

I agree with you. About 1600 Lancer beating Stratos, in my other forum my Mirage Colleagues argued that the A73 in the 70's are 4WDs becoz it should be a Rally spec car!!! Talk about skepticism! QUOTE(jnry3 @ Mar 22 2005, 08:53 PM) Okay... just to set it straight, the 70's Mitsubishi Lancers were equipped with the 4G3x engine. For Joginder Singh's WRC Lancer, he used a 4G32 according to Mitsubishi's website.
Now can I have that Mitsubishi website?

Jnry3, the bolt pattern of my tranny is the same as the FWD newer 4G63 (1st Gen DSM)... so, i'll have some trouble with the engine mounts only... Thanks for your answer. :)

6-bolt, right? Yeah... I remember reading about this... but for 2nd Gen 4G63's, there's a bigger prob. Let me know how the swap goes. I'm considering a 1G 4G63 swap vs. a 4G92 DOHC MIVEC swap. TIA!

ColtLancer, try the 4G92 MIVEC. It should fit... it'll be the engine in my A72D. :)
