Has anyone experienced a problem with the rear suspension squeaking with any up and down movement? Mine has been doing it for two weeks now. Driving me nuts! :(

My 05 Outlander with only about 2500km on it started to squeak as well when it got really cold here. It went away when we had a warm spell but has now reappeared with colder weather. DRIVES ME NUTS!!!! :crying: Think it is rear suspension rubbers. I am going to take it in this week to the dealer. Will update as soon as I do.

I will be getting mine serviced next week as well. I will post the outcome. I noticed the squeaking started after I washed it but it never went away.

I drive the 03 Outlander XLS and I've had that problem since I first got it back in April of 2003... This problem was fixed three times by replacing the rear suspension's something something, supposedly; however, the problem still exists today... Therefore, it's only a matter of time till it returns... I've found the tendency to be the colder weather it is, the worse it gets. Mind you, my problem still arise when the warm weather is here, so I'm not sure if weather is a factor. On the side note, has anyone had problems with their sport shifter getting a bit icky to shift up or down? I've encountered this repeating problem with the sport shifter giving me a bit of a restriction when I shift. When I asked the dealership, they said it was due to lubrication problems, so they lubbed it and it seemed fine for a lil, but it eventually returns...

From another forum I understand that this is a common problem with the Lancer as well. Mitsu is supposedly developing rear suspension bushings of a different material to try and fix the problem. If they replace the squeakers with the same thing it will return. I am going to question my dealer on this when I take mine back.
