Hello,
I am in the process of replacing the Alternator on my '91 GSX, and while I am at it I would like to lose the dead weight of my non-functioning A/C Compressor. The previous owner had removed all of the secondary A/C Components, piping, condensor etc. I was hoping someone on the forum would have done this, and knows either a part # or belt size required to run the alternator minus the a/c pulley. I live in Ohio and the less time I have to spend in the ice fortress that is now my garage manuevering and measuring the better.

Any help is always appreciated.

Cheers

Its gonna be a b!tch to remove the AC. Just a little fyi. Why do you need the belt size? If you're removing the AC just take a knife to it.

The alternator and a/c compressor run off the same belt, remove the compressor from the equation and the belt needs to get shorter.
The entire a/c system has already been removed with the exception of the compressor, just a few bolts to lose a good deal of weight.

Huh, I worked on my 2g and 1g and neither have the alternator and AC on the same belt.

I couldn't say. The manual shows two drive belts, one running the power steering and water pump, runing above and to the left; the other running the alternator, below the power steering pump, going also to the water pump, then to the rear of the engine and the compressor. I also visually confirmed this on my, as well as another 1G 4G63.

There turned out to be an aftermarket crank pulley involved so I had to take measurements, thanks anyways.
