How do you tell from the VIN if your Eclipse is Cali or Fed emissions spec'd?

Edit: So, second to last number on the VIN? Mine is a 4... so that means I got the **** fed spec, right?

i heard that you can tell by the VIN, but i could have sworn it had to be a 2000 or something.. and even tho i see you are a 2000, i dont trust that method.

Basically the Cali will have 2 "Pre-Cats" integrated within the header, along with a few extra o2 sensors.

For Example, my buddy has a 2000 GT Fed, and i have a 2001 GT Cali. When i look at my front bank headers, there is an o2 sensor that is in the header right under the heatshield. You can see the wire and the sensor from right there. My buddy however, dose not.

hope this helps...

if not Club3g.com is an extremly extremly good source on all things 3g eclipse

the last 6 digits of the vin is the serial number of your car.

Normally you would find the emissions specs on a sticker under the hood but if that picture is your car it looks after-market and you would need your original hood to get that info.
