Hey wassup fellow Mitsubishians,

I ran into a problem with my MMax. I replaced the clutch on my 5 speed manual and when I tried to shift gears they would not go in and in the same process I managed to literally brake the Stickshift from the bolts. Is there any possible solution to this or should I just totally replace my tranny. I have been considering converting my MMax to an Auto tranny but I am still trying to obtain that tranny. The job for me is simple but the parts do not seem to be readily available. What can you my fellow Mitsubishians recommend, suggest or think about that? Thank you all in advance for your suggestions. :liebe011:

This particular transmission does not require a reposition of the slave cylinder because it does not have one. The clutch has a lever that is attached to a cable that is pulled by the clutch pedal. I have thought about replacing it with a slave cylinder and a hydraulic resevoir but alas, I haven't the money nor time for that yet. Needles to say, I can not shift into gear because the Stickshift will not stay bolted on.

first buy a heli coil kit for those size bolt holes, then invest in a performance throw shifter not a short throw shifter just a throw shifter. to install the heely coils you simply drill out the original threads then kind of glue the (heely coil) new threads in. use new bolts and your should be just fine my man.

 Thank you, I did purchase some of those heely coils but one of the holes is broken from the edge, as a matter of fact I will be taking a picture of it and then I will come back and show you how bad the damage is, other than that the suggestion is a great one and I just need to get myself a new drill bit in order to drill the surviving holes. Thank you once again for your suggestions.

I hear people talk about their mighty max like it is the only source out there. Dodge imported the MM and changed the name to power ram 50, or D50. I have seen several either for sale outright or in salvage yards. I am sure that you could find a replacement tranny if you searched any of these places.
I personally just went thru a mess trying to replace the shifter support on my 4wd. The piece is different between the 2wd & 4wd, and is also the shifter is not long enough if replaced from the raider.
Other than than, you should be able to get a machine shop to weld the piece back onto the tranny, unless you no longer have the broken piece. Other wise, the area could be reconstructed by wels and a new hole drilled.
