^^^LOL! Yeah, not much choice around here. They're actually acting rather nice. They're supposed to have my tires on order. I'll let you know when they're on the car. I'll also let you know what they do about the paint issue on the side skirts (said they'd take care of that too).

Hey guys,

I noticed the left pull issue almost immediately after I received the car. I decided to sit on it a while to see if the winter tires I was looking to put in would rectify the issue, and they did. I just called my dealership to see how they'll handle putting the stock tires back on with this issue in mind. He said there were a few cases reported with the issue, and they've been suggested by Mitsubishi to swap the front and back tires, and that the issue doesn't warrant replacement of the tires. He said to bring it in and they'll test a few different configurations until the problem goes away.
So I guess I will bring it in and see if they fix the issue without replacing the tires. Somehow I doubt it, but he seemed pretty confident. Fingers crossed...

Same thing on my GTS when I picked it up 2 weeks ago. But then I had to put the winters on it after 2 days and I didn't notice it with the winters.
I just recently put back the Dunlops back on but I switched the fronts to the back and the backs to the front and no more pulling....must have gotten lucky on that one.

Got my GTS back from the dealership on Friday. Got a new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's courtesy of Mitsu. The pulling has stopped so the tires were obviously the problem.

Now I just have to fight with them about the sandblasting the side of my car gets.

Hi there,

I'm also having the same issue(GTS, pulling to the left). So far I've got the tires rotated(no help) and today I'm getting the car align.

I have been reading the all the posts and it seems some have gotten new tires. But only one member has posted copies of their invoice of the new tires.

Can anyone else that have also received new tires please post their invoices? This will help greatly to all of us if we wish to argue with the Mitsubishi dealership to get new tires.

Thanks alot.

Hey MemphoMan,

We would greatly appreciated if you provide us with a copy of your invoice if you got one for the tires. I have a feeling the alignment will do nothing and I have to debt this issue with my dealership

Thanks!

Yeah, the alighment will probably do nothing...neither will rotating the tires.

The dealerships network was down when I picked up my car and they told me they would mail me a copy of the service order for my records later. I haven't received it yet so I guess I should call them. When I do get it I'll post it but in the mean time if you go to page two of this thread there's copies of the service order that someone else posted.

I too have a similar issue but I have aftermarket tires and rims. They are Nankang NSII tires. I took them to the Mitsu dealer, he drove the car and said the pull was pretty bad. He let some of the air out of the tires because the guys at the tire shop overfilled them. The pull is still there and he did suggest moving the front left tire to the back and vice versa. We will see what happens this weekend. I hope this doesn't end up being a Mitsu issue.
The Dealership said they couldn't get me the GTS wheels for my ES-Sport so they let me pick out my rims and sent me to some local wheel shop. If moving the wheels doesn't work should I try the tire shop first or go back to the dealer?

So you're saying you have aftermarket tires and its still pulling to the left? Interested. Because I always thought that it was the stock tires(18" Dunlop on my GTS) that cause this problem. If thats the case, then its an alignment issue with the car. I read in other forums talking about getting Camber bolts to adjust the car's alignment.

I would go back to the dealers first and also search thru the forums. I'm also trying to figure out if its the tires or a lack alignment adjustment with the car.

I was having the same problem from day 1 that I got my Lancer GTS. I left it for about 2000 KM to see if it would fix itself. It didn't. Today I called Markham Mitsubishi and said that it was pulling to the left, and if I should bring it in. The service advisor was really nice and she said don't even bother to come. She told me that she currently has 2 cases of 08 Lancers having this problem. They have tried 2 alignments and rotations but it doesn't do anything. They are currently working with Mitsubishi Canada to find a solution to the problem. (I think they are just trying to get a manufacturer to provide them with the cheapest 18 inch tires) She took down my email address and she would advise me of a solution as soon as it's avaliable. In about 30 minutes I received a courtesy email from her stating that they have my info and that she would get in touch with me later. (+1) Hopefully a solution will be reached soon. She talked about the camber bolts also and said that it may be a solution, but they are not 100% yet, they are still working with the techs at Mitsu. Canada. I also reported this problem to Mitsu. Canada so that I have it on record just incase I need an alignment or any unusual tire wear after the warranty is expired. If you report the problem during warranty then they have to honor the problem even if it is expired. I experienced this personally with my old Honda, hopefully Mitsu. does the same. I will post any further progress I get and I suggest anyone with the same problems report them to your local dealer ASAP.

I just got mine replaced with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero's & I kinda like them. The seem to be a little noisier, a little less responsive, but they do ride better.
No mileage difference.
They still seem to pull to the left only slightly...but an improvement over the Dunlops.

The dealership said that my car didn't fall in the range of cars effected by the "tire recall" (not a real recall, just couldn't think of a better term)
But even after they drove my car (after 2 alignments & a rotate) they agreed that mine did pull & that's what got them to order me a new set.

Stay on their a$$ & you should see results. You may have to jump through a few hoops to get them, but it'll be worth it.

:57:
Hope Mitsu doesn't make those with this issue wait too long to fix things.

Hi Guys... I know this issue is kinda old but would just like to share my experience. I had my tires rotated last week ever since then my Red GTS starts moving to the left on its own. I actually have the Dunlop tires and aside from the left pull its now considerably noticeable that it harder to make a right turn against a left turn. Power steering and all its manageable but quite annoying having your car pulls to the left by its self and having the noticeable right vs left steering? had a wheel alignment done today but all I got is a crap response form Firestorm (btw... dealer paid for the alignment). Basically he is telling me, "nope the car is not pulling anymore as I have tested it out myself", "that is torque steer...", "we did all we could your tires are perfectly align".

If anyone has any suggestion or advise on how I should deal with the dealer I would certainly appreciate it. I might be a car nut (I love cars) but I am not into most of the hardcore stuff. I would want to go back to the dealer and point out that I still have the same problem but would be concern if they try to give me a round a round ("lets re-rotate your tire", we are not seeing your pulling to the left problem", "thats nothing more we can do about it")

Again any suggestion or advise would be appreciated.

Car info:

Mileage: 8300 miles
Age: 6 months

BTW: I let my brother tested it out and told me my pulling issue is worse than his 97 Eclipse.

Keep on the dealership!!!!!!! :gunsmilie:
Have the service manager go for a ride with you. THEN have him/her drive it to see what your talking about while your in the car with them. Do whatever you have to do to make it do what your talking about while your driving & let them see.
If they won't do anything about it.....contact Mitsu Corp & open a claim # on it.

DO NOT GIVE UP! I don't care what they say......they seem to still have issues with the Dunlops. I had my car aligned either 2 or 3 times...it was a big hassle, but in the end it is all good now with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero's that they replaced mine with.

Before I forget......how many miles do you have on the car?????? The lower the better :)

I have the Warranty Card for the Dunlops in my glove compartment which came with the car. It states that the warranty is good one year from dealer purchase (or manufacture date if no receipt) OR 2/32" left on treadwear whichever occurs first. It doesn't cover road hazards.

Just an FYI

darn it!!!

I went back to the dealer today and let one of the service personnel drive my car. In summary this is the response I got from him:

- "this is normal, you cant expect a car even the luxury one such as Lexus or others to drive straight on the road whenever you let go of the wheel"
- "there is no problem with it, it takes at least 5 seconds before the car will move slight to the left. This is normal as we dont have a favored road condition here in CA. If it pulls immediately to the left from stop then there is problem"
- "Your tires are threading evenly which will suggest that they are fine"
- "It just might be on top of your mind as you seem to favor the GTS having a pulling issue ever since you got it and from forum topics you have read"

In which, I only made this reply over and over again:

- "Before you guys rotated the tires I am not having a pulling issue"

Shesh!!! I am getting really frustrated. I already have opened up a claim number with Mitsu right after I went to the dealership. Here's hoping it wont be as much of a pain dealing with them compare with the dealer. On my next maintenance schedule, I will head over at Glendale or Whittier instead.
