Spent the past few weeks having the shaft completely polished out and the blower and chroming the pipes. This is a service I offer to clients of course which is why I had this piece done for my promo car. If you have something you would like a similiar service done, let me know.

I took pics of it on the garage floor so you can gauge the shine accurately in reference to the reflection of the tile.

hey man thats pretty dam nice i like it. now tell me, what is your position on remote mount turbos? for them, against them? i hear they are easier to put on a vehicle and is even a easy way to customize your own turbo if you choose to use a after market equivalent stock turbo off of another vehicle.

do you think maybe you would ever attempt this on say a car your sponsoring for a car show? i was just wondering because i would like to be able to talk to someone that has the manpower, tools, and know how to do something like this. there is a forum post about some other guy who did it and he wrote a sort of step by step but i think you'd be a little more detailed than he was. here is the link if you haven't already seen it.

I'm not a fan of that setup and would never endorse the idea.

well its better than the alternative of going with a electric supercharger isn't it? here is the only electric turbo/supers that i have seen that look legit. because for that amount of money i'd hunt someone down and kill them if they were scamming me.

so if it were a choice between a remote turbo system and these which way would you go? i know probably know the answer but i still want your opinion.

i tried to subscribe to that forum and every time i sign off it doesn't recognize my nick name/member name, and makes me re-register i have contacted the forum admin and they keep saying its fixed and it never is so i gave up on that site. anyways its just that i keep hearing lame ideas and vague information on how to get boost in my engine. i would have to buy a custom exhaust manifold, and possibly modify my engine compartment at the wheel well, like cutting stuff out.

since i am going to do all the mods myself i just don't feel comfortable cutting anything out until i have seen how to do it, or helped with it myself. guys who just have shops mod their cars out for them piss me off. so unless you know of a website or a forum that posts in detail how to boost my 2001 Eclipse rs. then i'm going to have to stick with something i can do for myself.

now i know that this system is less than optimal, but does it work good enough? does it have a huge turbo lag because of all the intake tubing space? have you seen this setup in person, or are you just being prejudice without studying the system first? i just want to know that if i took say a stock ball bearing turbo off of a audi, welded a four bold flange near the end of my exhaust pipe. using a oil pump to push and pull oil into and out of the turbo. and set the wastegate to a higher Psi. so it pushes 6 psi in the intake manifold. do you think it would work?

i know its like beating a dead horse with me, but since i got verbally bi*ch slapped the last few times i opened my mouth without researching the topic first. i figured i'd ask some questions about the stuff i don't know rather than talk about the few things i do know. and catch s#it for the stuff i don't. don't you have a turbo guru at your shop that could post something for you on this subject?

I don't pay my staff to post on the internet.

An electric supercharger just doesn't work, period. All turbos will have lag, and the amount of lag depends greatly on size of turbine, compressor wheel, etc. The ONLY way you avoid lag completely is with a supercharger since those are belt driven.

You don't have to register on club3g.com to view posts and read things. However, it's really not hard to register and I don't see how you're having an issue.
