do a oil change and make sure to put in the correct amount of oil. this should stop any ticking. if not then your injector may be going bad. those are the only 2 things that it could be.

Hey I know its been a few months, However I used to have an 86 ESI-R Turbo and had the same problem. I would check your Exhaust Manifold. Mine had a crack in it and it made a ticking sound like what yours is doing. Check it out. This is causing you to loose boost and horsepower. On mine the ticking would get a little louder as the engine warmed up. Hope this helps and best of luck!
