I just bought a '92 GT for parts but I was playing with a few different things before tearing it apart and I noticed a lot of electrical related issues and I wasn't sure if it was all tied to one thing or if it was a combination of some **** molestering this car before I took claim. For example the following doesn't work.

1. Horn

2. Cruise Control (lights up but switch doesn't work)

3. Rear Wiper (but if I recall correctly the washer fluid does spray)

4. Front cigarette lighter

5. Steering wheel radio controls

6. Driver's side power locks (locks, but doesn't unlock)

7. ABS Light (my friend said probably due to brakes needing new pads maybe)?

8. Service Light

9. SRS Light

Everything else seems to be fully working and I don't see any fuses that appear to be blown that might be related to this etc, I am hoping to just know what is causing the problem(s) and maybe resolve a few.

Also I am parting out a '92 Stealth in case anyone needs anything, I made a post in the classifieds, just let me know what people want, I'm a little slow to getting stuff done being in grad school and work, but I'm trying to get the small investment I have into the car back.

Thanks! -Mike

1.) Check the vacuum on the cruise control...make sure the vacuum hose is connected

2.) I have a rear wiper motor if you want it...

3.) Splice a wire into another power source. Run it to your positive on your cigarette lighter. Then just ground it to something else. I spliced mine into my stereo harness...works perfectly.

4.) Just go under your hood and pull the relay for the ABS and off goes the light.....ABS blows anyways.

5.) SRS Lights are common in these cars. Deal with it lol it could get expensive

6.) As for the Service light...you mean the Check Engine light is on? If thats the case go the easy route first. Take it to autozone and have them run a free diagnostics.. When my engine light was on i took it there and narrowed it down to the MAF Sensor...got a new one and bam..problem solved. If that doesn't help you. Take it to a garage and have them run a full diagnostics and it'll tell you everything.

Thats all i can say...good luck

1.)  Check the vacuum on the cruise control...make sure the vacuum hose is connected
I'll look at this next time I get the chance, this certainly sounds like the case.
2.)  I have a rear wiper motor if you want it...
I might hit you up if need be, I have a second car, I just need to check that the rear wiper on that one works before I go through all the efforts. :)
3.)  Splice a wire into another power source. Run it to your positive on your cigarette lighter. Then just ground it to something else. I spliced mine into my stereo harness...works perfectly.
This was my plan, just checking in case it was an obvious fix, I'm going to tap off the 2nd accessory plug that actually does work.
4.)    Just go under your hood and pull the relay for the ABS and off goes the light.....ABS blows anyways.
Sounds good to me.
5.)    SRS Lights are common in these cars. Deal with it lol  it could get expensive.
See #4, I figured I'd pull the light.
6.)    As for the Service light...you mean the Check Engine light is on? If thats the case go the easy route first. It's on my '93 where the light comes off and on, like it will go off and then come back on at random, so right now I was already thinking MAF sensor from talking to a mechanical friend, autozone I don't think will touch it since it's a '93 and pre OBDII, but supposedly a friend of a friend has a mechanic's scan-tool set for pre ODBII cars, so we'll see. Worst case I'll take it to the dealer.
Thats all i can say...good luck

When you start the car, does it seem like it's doing an idle search? Also, is the car hesitating? When you give it gas does it hesitate for a second then start accelerating?? Because from the sounds of the light coming on and going off then on and off again it sounds to me like a MAF sensor..if it isn't hesitating now..keep an eye on it..because i have a feeling it will start.

I do get the occasional hesitation, sometimes right when I start, the idle search some, but not so much. Usually I can feel it hesitate then kick up and with that comes the light. I'll be swapping MAF's this weekend if I can find time and giving it a shot.

Thanks for the help!

Find your fuel injectors, make sure the harnesses are not broken.

And if you can while the CEL is on have it scanned.

Okay I'll check those too, if anyone knew where I could get my hands on a scan tool that would be great, otherwise my friend who is an hour away has one and I can use his sometime, but i figured I best buy one myself.
