Ok I been looking around for Exhaust System and now I down to 2 system, But I need help, because I want some thing sound good and have some HP to it. I'm looking at the Greddy Ti-C Axleback Exhaust System and the Road Race Axle Back Exhaust. Now the Road Race look like the muffler and that it, but then the Greddy looks like a full exhaust system. I just need help with it, because I don't want to get the wrong one.

greddy and rrm exhausts are both just axle back systems.

if you want a full exhaust system then i recommend getting the new Injen SES exhaust. It is a full header-back and is good for at least 10hp

The Injen SES Catback system will only work with California model Lancers. BUT...Injen will be releasing an Axle back system within the next month or so that will work for everyone else that didn’t get there car in California.

The RRM and Greddy are both axle back systems. (which means that they are basically mufflers with a short amount of piping so you can bolt it onto the exhaust flange near your rear axles)

You can find all the bolt on exhaust options for the 2008+ Lancer by following the link...

2008+ Lancer Exhaust Systems

Your exhaust options are...
1) Injen Catback (California Models Only)
2) Greddy Ti-C Axleback
3) RRM Axleback
4) WORKS Axleback

Hope this info helps you out :)

Well, the 2008 Lancer has two catalytic converters on the stock exhaust system. The Greddy Ti-C exhaust bolts on after the second cat. So arguably you could say it is a “catback”, but the second cat is behind the rear seats next to the rear axles so it really is just an axleback system.

I also live in NY, is emission issues the only reason?

I was thinking about bringing mine down to my muffler shop and asking them for a full header back syster with low end gains and a deep sound.

I hate hearing some exhausts that sound like they are gargling water or are raspy.

no he won't, the initial cat offers the proper amount that he needs, any other amount is just a waste and not needed.

dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder without forced induction is pointless. no power gain and POSSIBLE power loss.

not if its after his cat. your back pressure is built up because of your cat. you could take your exhaust off after your cat and get the same back pressure as you get with the pipe still on.

a vehicle "needing" back pressure is an old wives tail from the v8 and hot rod carburetor days. With EFI you could run open header (not that you would) and not worry about it/

I agree with getting dual exhaust on a four cylinder is silly. Even splitting after the Cat wouldnt really help much, just more for looks and sound right?

If it was a 6 cylinder and you ran two from both headers to rear that would make more of a point to me ya know. For this car i def wanted a dual exhaust for looks but thinking about the money and not really getting performance from it i didnt see why it would be worth it. I could be completely wrong though. You guys would know more then me on this subject.

I live in the Capital Area, north of Albany.

I'm still looking for a Good, and recommended shop to install tint on my car. I bought it 7 months ago and i read about before they werent installed with felt on the windows to avoid scratching. Does anyone know if they updated that and put those on the cars or when i go i should still ask them to install that?

Im still debating over Tsudo vs Greddy VS full header to exhaust custom build from a muffler shop.

Man thanks for the help. I might not even do a dual now. It just sucks that all I see is Axe-back out there and when I talk to some shops about the Axe-back I get to different saying about them. One guy 2day told me not to even take out the muffler. I work for a auto parts store. I go around shops all day. I was thinking about getting the Greddy but like you, I'm really still debating over what to do. Man the 2 things I did to my car was tint it and put in a cold air intake. I just want to do is get some good performance done to it first, befor I do any body work to it, But I'm taking my time doing it too. Because I might just wait a few year and get the Evo X or 9, but then the way gas going, I might just stay with this car.
