Trying to help out a friend who lives in another state.
He has been having problems. I know lots about turbo cars, but not too much about the eclipse.
I have been looking for some engine bay pics of a 100% bone stock eclipse.

he has a 98 GSX.

anybody with good pics or knowledge of where to find them would be GREAT!

THANKS

Thanks Rob for finding the pic.
He says "car sputters only in boost"
but idles fine.
My first thought was an intake leak.
So I told him to check intake hoses/connections,
and I just wanted to see what he is looking at(he has no internet to send pics).

Are there certain problems with the factory setup??

THANKS

Rarely are there problems with factory set up unless he has pumped up the boost. Check the hose connecting the throttle body to the intercooler and make sure nothing is leaking there. I had the same problem, sputtering and dying in boost, and realized the hose wasn't on all the way (thank you pep boys)

Sorry to bump another old thread! (just trying to learn and not start unnecessary threads along the way)

Why do you suggest 8.5mm over 7mm? Advanced Auto Part down the street has the 7mm ones and out of convenience I was thinking about just getting those. How much of a difference does it make getting the 8.5's?

8.5mm has less impedance and voltage drop than the 7mm.

basically, in a turbo car the compression raises as the boost does. when this happens it is harder for the spark to jump from one side to the other and it can get quenched(blown out). Having the bigger wires allows more voltage to travel to the spark plug and increases the reliability of the spark

good question, I will add it to the FAQ

this is awsome FAQ. I will use the 8.5mm wire. I just went and bought the 7mm for my eclipse maybe 20 miles before she broke down.
