Hi,
Ive got a 2002 L200 Animal. Been a good truck but of late has developed an idle problem, that is intermittent...i think.
Symptoms:
When up to temperature ( and after the heater has been on in he cab to warm my feet) the Idle when in N is about 1200 rpm.
Its done this twice now, after about 30 mins driving, and when i have had the heater on in the cab.
I tunred the car off, and as the interior - or perhaps the engine, cooled the prblem went away ( i kept starting the truck after every 5 minutes and eventually the idle returned / responded as it should.
Today, i ran the truck but kept the heater off........no idle problem
what i suspect is that the fly by wire potentiometer in the footwell is heating up, and sending the wrong resistanc signal to the throttle control.???
But i have had not experience of fly by wire cars, so am after some guidance.
Are there any checks i can do on the potentiometer / resistance checks etc......and how much are these units.
Has anyone experiecned the same symptoms and found a different cause?
Cheers in advance
Rob ;)
