I was working on my 01 galant and had removed the speedometer from the dash. Two wires connect to it, each with about 10-15 pins. My garage door broke and i had to run to the local home depot to get a new spring for the door. The wifes car is stuck inside the garage so I use my car to get there. I don't plug the speedometer back in because i didn't feel like having to take it out again. On the way back the car starts to idle really low. When i get home and come to a complete stop the car idles out. I go to start it back up and get nothing. The battery was completely drained. If i get a new battery the car runs until it drains.

Does anyone have any suggestions if i should get the ecu reprogrammed or what. I don't know what effect unplugging the speedometer has but it seems to just be draining the crap out of my battery.

thanks
