MSD makes another good wire. Realistically, the only possible benefit to running "high performance" spark plug wires on a fairly stock engine would be to reduce running misfires. WHether you like it or not, EVERY engine will misfire a few times over every thousand or so RPM's. Its normal.
THis is the same thing that makes iridium plugs beneficial to older ignition systems.... as everything ages running misfires can increase due to the systems inevitable break down, which leads to less peak voltage, and since the iridium plugs take less voltage to fire, we have a reduced running misfire count.
Things like oil, plugs, wires, hose clamps etc lol, wont increase HP, just restore it.

QUOTE(bobthecow @ Mar 24 2008, 09:45 PM) bosch sucks go with ngk or delco i love bobthecows response there, finally someone with some sense. Bosch is a company founded out of Germany henceforth the reasoning behind their plugs being manufactured specifically for VW, Audi, SAAB and Porche. they are made for those cars just because they apparently work ok in the mitsubishi's, does in no way mean they are good for your car. you can also buy accel spark plugs as well i think those are the ones that come stock either that or Delco. but i keep hearing that the NGK plugs seem to offer the biggest difference in performance. maybe 1-2 hp and less misfires. less misfires is always a good thing. you can always do researching on these by typing specs after each kind of spark plug and looking into it yourself. but as for me i take word of mouth better than a specification from the company any day. NGK is the type of plug that comes most common to mouth or in a article or on a post after someone has done internal engine mod on a Mitsubishi. i have never heard of someone rebuilding their Mitsubishi motor and then putting in Bosch plugs so i would say they aren't worth it unless you have a German made car. if you don't believe me about Bosch check out this website that lists where they are from and then look up V.W. performance plugs or Porche. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Bosch_GmbH

dude are you serious? 100,000 miles on spark plugs? unless he has long life platinum, gold, or iridium plugs i highly doubt that. the only companies that make long life platinum, or iridium plugs are: ACDelco, Autolite, Bosch, Champion, Denso, NGK, and Split-Fire NKG make the best iridium plugs with a mileage change interval of 120,000 miles.
Denso makes the best performance Iridium plugs but due to the tiny wire electrode the change interval is set at 30,000 miles.
the highest mileage spark plug is literally NGK iridiums so if you have take care of your engine properly there is no reason you should have to change your plugs for dam-near 8 years or so.
now as far as buying cheap non long life material plugs, accel, ADdelco, and autolite. these are all good plugs if you plan on having your a tune up job done at a shop or dealership. because they will always change your plugs unless you specify not to, for some people this just doesn't come to mind when they get their car worked on. i wouldn't go out and buy the expensive plugs, if in 10,000 miles or so your going to get them switched back over to the cheapys anyways.

QUOTE(EMC 3000gt @ Apr 21 2008, 08:57 AM) just means the car was running perfect with a 14.6 A/F, nothing to do with the plugs. But yeah NGK FTW yeah to a extent your right, but even the best taken care of engine without the platinum or iridium plugs the plugs will foul out eventually sooner than a long lasting set will. its not just a company rating or specification, its science.

True, but yea they were the same stock plugs that came with bobthecows car off the assembly line, he bought the car with 50somethin thousand miles and they were still the stock plugs and he never changed them til like 110k or something like that. Mine were Bosch that like I said the insulator housing was cracked and the spark was shooting out the side of the plug, fun stuff let me tell you. but yea Delco makes good plugs, even their lower line ones will last a long freakin time.

The only reason I had to replace mine was because one was starting to corrode slightly. The misfire wasn't really even noticeable. They were just the stock delco ones. I had delcos in my beretta as well. They lasted 140k miles. QUOTE Looks like Nick found a local friend. Yeah, he has the same piece of *** as me, but in silver.
