Going under bridges or viaducts....even at highway speeds, for a brief second of being under there, the Sirius cuts out. I know the line of site...if the antenna can't receive a signal it won't work...but none of my other cars have this issue. Of course all of my other vehicles are equiped with XM.......

Does yours do the same?

I asked the dealership & they of course told me that all is working as it is supposed to......no problems. Maybe it is fine....but it is annoying.

There is another thread on the forums about the XM/Sirius merger that happened today.

Maybe we'll get the best of both.....

Kinda glad I am not the only one.....but then again...it still stinks that it does it.

My Lancer does this too. However, my Jetta has Sirius but it has a shark fin antenna and it doesn't cut out. It even keeps playing when I pull in the garage. I was thinking about trying to find one for the Lancer

Its not really the Jetta's sharkfin antenna that ables it to play under bridges and garages.. its the amplifier they have in them. My xm radio cuts off too.

are we talking signal amplifier or audio amplifier?

cause i had xm in my truck, and all i had was a simple little magnetic antenna on the back of the cab, and that signal never cut out anywhere. and it was not connected to any amplifier, just the converter box that plugged into my brain on my alpine unit, there was an audio amplifier connected, but it was on another circuit of the brain

regardless of any of that, i still like the look of the shark fin as oppposed to the aerial

Hmmmm. $70 isn't too bad. I'll have to think obout it. I do like the sharkfin look on the Jetta. I'll have to use my imagination to figure how it will look on the Lancer.

Mine cuts out all the time...well under things like bridges and today I parked in a parking garage. It would only come back on when I passed by an open wall in the garage.
