What good will that do really? It doesn't go from one edge of the hood to the other. I got most of my paint chips above the headlights so that wouldn't do any good for me if I had one.

I agree in the brochure I saw it was on a graphite gray model and looked nice, in those pic it doesn't look good on red.

I got one when I bought my White GTS and it doesn't look good. Instead I'm going to get the Clear 3M protection film and put it where the hood deflector would go to protect that area from stone chips.

300$ for front of hood and top part of bumper in between the headlights. YIKES, but peace of mind is priceless.

I do alot of freeway driving and I have two stone marks already above my grill.

I don't like the look of the hood deflector, and I heard the 3M coating changes color after a number of years, thus I didn't want to risk that on a white car because it would be blatant.

After two chips in 4 months though, yeah go for the 3M, and get the details on/ if there is a lifetime warranty if it shades different after time

The new 3M coating doesn't change colour. That's why it's so bloody expensive. The eBay ones however...other story. Best money I have spent so far. You can barely even notice it, looks sharp.

Attached ImageI just put on the full nose mark for a '09 Lancer GTS. It looks great and it doesn't cover up the aggressive lines of the car. Has anyone else installed this yet because I did have a question on how do attatch the front to the grill.....

I got my done in Halifax at Trimline. Any major decal company and some detail shops offer the service. Just Google it and e-mail shop for the best price.

Make sure the shop uses 3M material. The 3M Clear Bra is also known to many as Stoneguard.

Also, the front bumper itself is designed to absorb shock, so stick with metallic surfaces prone to chipping such as the frontal hood area and above the top grille.

Hi guys,

I'm new here and it is the first time to post my comment here. so I'm little nervous now...
Anyway, why I'm posting my comments now is I want to show you my hood protecter.
I had Signs by Tommorrow to make mitsubishi.com logo and they attached stickers to my hood protecter.

Yes, I do not use this part as a practical part but dress-up part.
I will intend to use this protecter in Japan since I will leave U.S. soon...
I would like to hear your opinion.

Thanks, in advance.

Hello, don't be nervious. It's all harmless fun around here, lol.

So welcome to the forums :00000732: and just for clarification, why did you fabricate an advertisment for Mitsubishi Motors on your hood protector?

Thank you, lonnieg3-san

Well, putting mitsubishi logo, it may be slightly weird for U.S. people, but for most of Japanese, English characthers looks cool.
(It is same manner as some U.S. people think Japanese characters are cool.)

Also Lancer was launched U.S. market first, and many Japanese Lancer funs visited MMNA's web site to check how would it be the next gen. Lancer, at that time.

I mean, this hood protecter shows some USDM look in Japan. (Hood protecter is not sold in Japan officially.)
