After reading this thread I'm not sure what direction to go. It seems most people say to get the clear 3M protection for the hood and mirrors since they chip more then the front bumpers. Due to the cost I've thought about getting the factory bra for road trips in the winter. My friend has a red MazdaSpeed3 with the clear but still had a couple knicks get through his clear protection. So, factory fabric bra for under $200 and just take it on and off each day during the winter or $700+ for the 3M clear bra......decisions decisions.

Also, has anyone bought the 3M kits on ebay and tried to install them? $90-$125 for the full kit on ebay with instruction videos. I'd like to know how hard it is to install. Thanks.

I've seen cases on other cars where the material/leather bra rubbed against the paint from wind drag and looked horrible after removing it. It would also increase drag (or so I'm assuming) which would give you lower gas mileage.

The clear bra is more expensive, but causes no damage to the paint of your car and i don't think it would cause any added drag.

I just put on the full nose mark for a '09 Lancer GTS. It looks great and it doesn't cover up the aggressive lines of the car. Has anyone else installed this yet because I did have a question on how do attatch the front to the grill.....

How does the OEM hood protector attached to the hood? Is it clip on or bolt or 3m tape?

Just have a few questions,
1. how much did you get it for?
2. what panels did you have done?
3. Is it worth it?

Dont go with 3m, go with VentureShield. Its lifetime warranty from fading, yellowing and cracking. #m is only a 5 year warranty. there is a place in Oakville that installs Venture Tape, Also, TintKing in Etobicoke installs it too
