I want to lower my car, but I can't decided how I should go about it. I've been talking to my buddy and he says I should just go straight springs. This is because coil overs need to be adjusted for a while until they're right, have a lot more bouncy ride, and can wear out easier, I guess. But my question is this: since I live in Wisconsin, should I use coil overs so that I can raise my car up a little when its winter, or should I just get set springs? What are the pros and cons of each? This is the first time for modifying the suspension on any car so I want to make sure I do it right. Any tips would be very helpful. Thanks! :gunsmilie:

Well if you go with springs, you'll need struts too. The coilovers your friend is referring to are teh cheap sleeve over type. Real coilovers will not bounce or wear out. The thing is that with teh spring+strut set up you'll only need one alignement done. With the coilovers you'll need an alignement done everytime you raise or lower it that much. If you're going more for looks, go with the strut and spring set-up. If you are going to track the car at all, or like to drive hard on curvy roads, you'd be happier with coilovers.

100%

a TRUE coilover will look like this. (Sorry for the lack of quality photo, I had to give some directions a while back and its the only image I found on the server)

I found a guy that is selling a set of coilovers for fairly low price. He said that they are 2g eclipse/talon coilovers and I'm wondering if they would be compatible at all with a 1g eclipse or not?
