Hi all :blush-anim-cl:

I'm new here and want to share a problem I have with my Magna 1998 3.0 V6. Approximately a month ago my car has started showing a problem with the turning light indicator (LH). Every time I brake my LH turning light indicator is also on but not flashing. And if I turn the LH turning light indicator it was flashing normally, but when I press the brake it stops flashing but it lights up only.

I tried to use OBD with Scantool software, but the OBD connection cannot be established.

Any suggestions for the above matters? thanks a lot.

I would guess its something like a bad earth.Do the turn signals come on at front.back and side or just on dash?Ive heard of blown bulbs casuing behaviour like these, you should check that ou.

the indicator flasher relay may be faulty

if a bulb doesnt flas it is usually a blown bulb or a bad earth

I have realised that this problem also affect the cruise control system, as when the system is on and I turn the LH indicator signal, it then will turn off the cruise control system like when pressing the brake.

This problem sometimes appears but sometimes not, and when it appears it will turn on the all LH signal lights (front, side and rear lights) but without flashing.

Couple weeks ago the hazard lights also were not working and I thought because of this problem but I just knew because of the blown fuse.

I have replaced the flasher unit, but the above problem is still remaining. I'll try to investigate further today.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

disconnect the battery

if you take off the horn pad and undo the steering wheel
you can get to the wiring for indicator and cruzz
to check the switches and contacts

interesting problem let us know what it was..... when you find out
sounds like an auto electricans job
