2002 Mitsubishi Galant, bought two weeks ago.

there is NO ABS light, but the seller told me it has "4 wheels independent suspension", and "4 wheels independent suspension"="ABS"

Is that true?

No I belive you have been told wrong ABS is a anti skid control which is computer controled so if you have to stop suddenly you still have some contol of the car so no light no ABS...

All cars with ABS have a warning lamp which comes on with the ignition for a few seconds to check the bulb integrity.
