Walmart and HomeDepot told me they cannot copy the key b/c there is a chip or something else in the key.

So I have to go to the dealership to get a copy of my key? How much that gonna cost?

You can program the key yourself if you have 2 good keys. Look at pg 2-12 of your car manual if you have one. It tells you exactly how to do it, but yeah you need the dealership to get you a blank at very least.

I recently got a copy of my key done, as long as you have the original key, it's easy to make a copy. I bought a key blank from eBay, cost me about $20, and then I was given this contact in MD (that's where I am) who came over to my office and programmed the key for $30, so in total it cost me $50, but it was worth it and it takes only about 5 minutes, if you know how to program it yourself, you will just need the key blank, just search eBay for "Galant 03 key".
