I have been under my daughter's hood twice and had an "old school" mechanic assist me in finding the transmission stick so I can check the fluid; however, neither of us can find it. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

assuming you have a manual transmission, there is no way easy way to check the level. There is a fill plug located on the transmission pan underneath the vechicle. With the car parked on level ground, remove the fill plug and if any transmission fluid comes out, that means you're at the proper level.

hope it helps
