Hi all! I have a 2001 carisma 1.8 GDI 92kW an i've been facing this strange sound when car works on neutral gear or in any gear, it sounds like something is cracking in there. At first I thought it was the clutch, took it to carshop, they told it wasn't cause once I let the clutch in the sound is GONE but if I put the clutch out it starts again. So they told me it's a 200% gear box, new one costs ~4000 $ used cost ~1000 $ with the job, so i'm not intended to pay that much. But they told mby I don't have to replace the whole gear box, just the bearing or the gear axle(shaft) but they don't want to take it apart to see what's the problem.., Mby smn had this sort of problem cause I could use some help.
