Attached ImageHey guys....been following this website for awhile and have a question I need some help with.
Looking to get a shark fin for my car, prob is though, my car only as the paint code 'HT' on it. Being based in Australia, I want to make sure I purchase the correct one. I drive a CJ Lancer VRX in the Electric Lightning Blue...it is 11/2007 badged, but exactly the same as our current 2008 model. Could someone with the same car colour post the colour code for me please?

On the inside panel of your passenger door, there should be a metal plate that will tell you the color code of your car.

On the shark fin website, the color code is T70. Double check to see if it's the same on your car.

Yeah....I only posted the question as I only have 'HT' written on the inside of my door where it says EXT. Colour or whatever is on the passenger door plate from memory...been holding off the order till I confirm the code. Nobody on the Aus forum I am on as installed one on an Electric Lightning Blue Lancer yet...couple on the grey versions and that is about it.

OK, now I seriously want a shark fin antenna. But the problem is the $81 shipped price tag is killing me!

What I was thinking was... buying one on eBay and color matching it myself. The antenna itself is like $10 shipped. I couldn't possibly pay more than $10 to have it painted, right?

Shark fin antenna for a fraction of the cost... now I just need to find out how to paint it.

...

Well, it's either this or a stubby antenna. And my custom stubby doesn't work too well with reception :(

It's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it!

Why pay 80+ dollars for an overpriced shark antenna, WHY?

Because you can purchase a professionally made (billet aluminum) stubby from eBay for only 25$! It's a total plug and play app (like 30secs to install).
This guy also has great feedback and it's guaranteed to work on all freqs except some AM stations.

Can you say BAM!!

here's the link:

ROLF! I can't believe I have been missing this conversation!

Email them! Is it under any kind of warranty? What did you use to stick it on?

I know the company stresses to CLEAN it over and over again, you may have had something under it and cause it not to stick.

I would email them and see if you can get more of the adhesive or what may be your options. I dont see them making you spend another 90 bucks

Dont worry you arent alone. You dont need to buy a new kit, just order a pre-cut adhesive strip from them. Its like $10.

All Stubby and Sharkfin bashing aside:

One would like to think after spending $80.00+ on a painted piece of plastic, that you would at least get exceptional quality adhesive, including a warranty replacement should it fail.

Paying those crooks another $10 is unacceptable. It should be free. Especially, if the customer can argue or prove that they cleaned the surface area prior to installation.
