Do you have 5-10k ready to invest into it? If so, I'll go into specifics. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and you can Google it.

well don't worry, there is no bolt-on turbo kits for the V6, and there is only the RIPP kit if you want to go supercharged. if you go turbo, everything you will do will be custom work. You are going to have to piece the entire kit together yourself. You are going to have find somebody to make the intercooler pipes.

If you're lucky, you can pick up a used TPS kit at some point on www.club3g.com. Tearstone Performance used to offer a high quality kit for this vehicle but that went away once it was proven that 1% of the population actually follows through with the forced induction route and the overhead costs to maintain kits on hand for retail sale was enormous.

The alternative is www.rippmods.com for a Supercharger.

when going forced induction, you want a lower compression ratio piston. 10:1 is too high. I would go with 8.5:1.

If you're serious about this, shoot me an email at sales@sc-customs.com once you iron out what you want. I can get you a slightly better price than Ripp as I also distribute their products.

Sorry I didn't take you serious from the get go, I just hear this story day after day and roughly 1 of every 800 actually follow through with it. With those odds, I tend to brush it off day in and day out.

Let me know.

so 1000% true. i even had the money on hand to do it to my 3000 but didn't go threw. its just most of the time cheaper to buy a whole new car. but as they don't make the 3g turbo i understand his wanting it. i really hope it works out and i'd love to see the results.

all my friends keep telling me to get something new with my money, i refuse, this is the first decent car i've ever had, a definite step up from an 89 caprice with 350k on it. she's treated me well so far, it's time to return the favor. plus she's paid off, so there's no pesky car payments. just extra money for using someones dyno

i know not many people believe to go with used parts, but as for me it has proven time and time again to be a better benefit to me than new parts. i tend to get rid of my vehicles after 2-3 years and the parts seem to hold up long enough for me. i looked up at car-part.com and found 2 turbos off of a 1997 3000gt for a tiny $124.99 a piece. a nice intercooler off of a 2002 WRX for $45.

you then find and buy all new oil lines that you can have customized, universal intake tubing, custom made exhaust manifold, rubber hosing for the coolant lines, and new blow off valves. then you end up with a twin turbo system for your GT depending on if you can do your own work or need to have someone fit it will change the ending amount of cash. but it should work just fine. i know there are a few shop owners that would prefer you take the brand new way but this is a budget turbo system. i hope this might help you on your final decision.
