I don't know if there is another post like, but I didn't see any.

For those wishing to purchase a new 2009 Lancer GTS in Canada at a good price here is the dealer's invoice price:

2009 Lancer GTS invoice = $21,686.36
MSRP: $22,998

Sun Sound and Leather invoice = $2,300
MSRP: $2,700

This is a good starting point to make a deal. Deal from the invoice price up, rather than MSRP down, now that you know how much a dealer pays for the car.

ENJOY!

Straight from the dealer himself. I saw the invoice papers. It said confidential.

Here's the quick story. I am getting a 2009 Lancer GTS with s/s/l so obviously I was browsing around for the best prices. I went to this one dealer and started negotiating prices. I was dealing with the salesman and not the general/sales manager.

Either the salesman didn't know what he was doing, but I asked to see the invoice papers and he showed them to me. I don't remember the invoice price for the other models because I was only looking at the GTS. The sheet showed MSRP and invoice price. There are currently no promotions or holdbacks for the 2009 Lancer.

I come back another day to finalize the deal with the general manager - the salesman wasn't there. I found out that the general manager didn't know I was showed the invoice papers. He got furious! He said that I wasn't supposed to know that. I said, it doesn't matter now because I know and we will deal from there. He didn't want to budge so I walked out. He said that salesman was going to get fired.

The very next day, I called the dealership and the salesman I was dealing with was actually fired. All this because I was showed the invoice papers.

Interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
So did you end up getting the ride or not? You said you walked out... If yes, how much did you pay?

I myself am considering either a 2009 Lancer GTS (2.4L) or a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon GS (2.0L). Will be calling insurance tomorrow for a quote. Then, I'll be taking both cars for a spin. The deciding factor will be which one puts a bigger grin on my face.

Yes I did.
I got it from another dealer. I paid $29,998.27 walk out door price. I didn't want to give business to that initial dealer because the GM was being a ****.

Not bad. Congrats!
Sounds like you saved yourself $700+

I checked out the other thread where you posted yesterday expecting your new baby on April 14th. If I do decide to get the GTS (white too!), I will let you know how much I will have paid.
