I need some help ,I have an 2001 3.5 magna with 127,000 k's . It still has the original plug's in it and I'm assuming they should have been replaced long ago.
My problem is I have never changed plugs a v6 front wheel drive , does any one have a simple procedure I can follow for the removal of the inlet manifold.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

yes

Changing Spark plugs on a V6

you do not have to remove the inlet manifold to change the plugs

the front 3 are easy
then from the drivers side
the rear plugs 6 and 4
can be reached using a 3/8 rachet extension and plug spanner

then move to the passenger side
remove the coil support bracket
thats 3 x12 mm bolts and one 17 mm bolt

reaching the number 2 plug with the same tools

as you fit the plugs take care starting the threads of each plug then do not over tighten

Well I have looked at it and theirs no way you can get to them without taking the manifold off, I think you must be thinking of an earlier model perhaps .
But I do appreicate your help just the same.

the info is for the second gen V6 models magna and verada

all the same engines 3 ltr or 3.5 auto or manual

engine on the passenger side

you
dissconnect the wiring plug to
the air flow meter remove the air filter
and snorkle to reach the rear bank
Is this picture attached similar to your motor

you need to have the timing belt replaced every 100000 km

look for leaks or corrosion at the water pump

also replace any old hoses - the small hoses tend to split

hope that helps

It is tight, but I've done it before. That being said, I will add that I'm not sure if I would skip removing the intake plenum if I were to do it again.

I was able to do a compression test as well as fit new plugs using this method above

rest the plug socket on the spark plug
then fit the short extension

using the rachet remove the plug

I am short so I stood on a tyre :P
