I HAVE A 1994 FTO 2.0 V6 TIPTRONIC GR

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CAR WONT START OR TICK OVER FROM COLD AND CAN TAKE UP TO 20 MINS TO START ITS NOT THE STEEPER MOTOR THAT CONTROLS THE COLD IDLE THE CAR WONT START AT ALL , ITS FINE ONCE ITS STARTED AND WARM. THE ONLY WAY I CAN START THE CAR QUICK IS TO LEAVE THE BATTERY OFF OVER NIGHT WHICH MUST BE RE-SETTING THE ECU AND CLEARING THE FAULT CODES

NEW ECU NEEDED ?????????? ANY IDEAS?????????????????????????

Hi,

Are you sure its not the stepper motor, if you could get a mate to swap with yours to rule this out ot new i think they are around £60.
I bought mine from Austrailia ebay, came within a week .

I also bought a few throttle bodies as i had a similar fault, could be the TPS or Base idle screw not set properly.

Check wires going into TPs and stepper, could be broken.
