Hi Everyone, im a newby here so please be kind
I have just bought a 1992 mitsubishi verada automatic 4 SPD & have found out that when the car is cold it revs really high & wont select 1st or 2nd gear however when it warms up the revs go down so im hoping it is an easy fix but i need some insight into what could be causing this particular problem. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

is this a V6 or a 4 cyl
if the oil is dark brown or smells burnt then the box may need a service or is worn
have the auto serviced

Change the oil and filter using mitsubishi brand oil

If no better the TCU may be faulty*transmission control unit*
it is located under the gear selection console
or under the radio on the firewall

there is a torque converter stall test you can do and diagnostics
