I was tapping the map sensor because I heard clicking in it and I think a fuse blew out. All of a sudden the car has no power at all. It was fine before I tapped the sensor. Anyone know which fuse I need to replace? I pulled all the standard fuses to check continuity but they looked good, it was dark so Ill check again in AM. I did try to jump start the car but that didn't help. Its a 2.4 98 Spyder. Thanks.

This morning I check the regular fuses again. All were in tact. The fuses (shaped like rectangles. not the set of relays) had the centers in tact as well. The set of black relays i haven't been able to check yet but if any one of the shorted would that cause a complete loss of power? This thing still wont power up.

Check your battery connections and then get a voltmeter and check to make sure you have 14 volts. 13.8 won't start the car.

Whats happening when you turn the key.

Warning lights?
Starter click?
Nothing?

There is no power at all. All the lights are dead. I had power to everything, then after tapping the sensor everything went out. That is why I thought it was a fuse. But the standard fuses look fine. Just not sure about the relay fuses in that box. Anyway, I am going to take the battery and get it checked. I purchased the battery 2 years ago, so Ill be shocked it that is the problem. Actually ill be happy if it is. I would rather spend 55 on a new one than spend my whole weekend figuring out what the heck happened.

I forgot to add that the positive terminals do need to be replaced. The connector is crimped on so Ill have to get a whole new cable. I dont know if what I did made it worse but my plan this weekend was to replace that cable. Maybe it will help.

It's the battery wiring in some way. The positive or negative cables might be loose some where.

I just replaced the negative terminal last week so thats good. I need to do the whole positive cable because the connector is pretty old and can slip off easily. I have tried tightening it down but still no juice is going through.

something similar happened to me, so, i change the started, and nothing, and when i was at the autoparts to buy another batery they said it was fine, and i change the terminal and everything work again, that sucks, cause i spent a lot of time and money and the terminal just cost me like $1.50 and took me about 5 minutes to replace it, lol, i will check on that first

I got the positive battery cable completely disconnected. Man what a pain that was. I had to remove the intake tube and battery tray to get my hand in there. Talk about tight squeeze. I am going to get the replacement cables today. Hopefully that will fix it.
