Im on my last string. Here's what I know:

Just replaced the 02 sensor (pep boys diagnosed that as my major problem)
New Starter (wasn't even turning over before)
Master cylinder is going out or i need to bleed the lines

Here is whats happening:
Just took the car from pep boys to my tranny place. Couldn't get it to start even with the new starter. Clutch started it, and as soon as i got it on the road it died. It is at THIS point that my starter finally started working. Got it going again, got it on the highway, died as i was merging ( ahhh!!!! ). Pulled over and it started right up.

I got it to the tranny place where its sitting there now. I tried out the starter there, and it started up fine, tho the starter did sound a little weird.

HERE IS THE REALLY REALLY STRANGE THING!!!!:
I let the car idle a little and the rpms dropped to 0. before i declared that it had "died" it started idling again. It was almost as if it had died then started again. WTF???

Im assuming there is some kind of electrical problem. WTF could it be???

Don't exactly know how but the MAS sensor is not talking right with the TPS, IAC and ignition. It may be certain companies that don't blend well if anything.

you left out the part that when you shift to nuetral or put in the clutch is when it died. (same thing with my car)
rarely but sometimes when put in the clutch and slow way down (light/stopsign) it will die on me. happens in spurts too, 3 times in a few days then not again for month. and your battery light will come on along with a few others and then BAM its going again. like it auto started. weird but your not the only one. i'm assuming its the throttle cable being loose. not tight enough to keep fuel to the engine or something. but, not my area, just thought i'd ellaberate for you, and let you know your not alone.

Check the resistor pack. Ive seen lose wires on them that get pulled slightly and cause these issues.

It wouldn't be the throttle cable because when you let off it closes anyway to utilize the IAC. I would actually say TPS. If you do replace make sure they are all from the same company just in case.

Mine was doing the die wen I let off the gas, came to a stop ***. But... it was kinda dumb what we did to fix it. On the throttle body there's a hole with threads in it that is right above the throttle, make sure there's a bolt in there. Mine... not so much. So when I'd stop it'd drop to about 400rpm and die. Bolt in, tightened til I was at 850rpm and good to go lol.

If it is not reading right yes it will. Actually check the IACV. If the motor is old then the pin could stick in place and not open up. That should throw a code though. But it doesn't hurt t check.

Actually scratch my idea.... hydraulic clutch makes it hard for the clutch cable to grab anything.
