the cool part.......

im driving home and gettin off the interstate on my exit, and a new civic SI goes flyin by me. (got a tip on it. sounds ok). so we get to the red lighht, and take off, we did these little red light races for like 11 redlights in a row (it's like 2 am no cars around). we get on a curvy road, and meet up with an integra, and 2 low ridin S10's. now all 5 of us are doin like 100-110 mph on this straight through town. all lights are green. it was jus like a **** movie!! hahaha

now tha bad.....

me and civic were up front and finally got stopped by a red light. while we are sitting there talkin, im noticing smoke coming from the front of us. IT WAS COMING FROM UNDER THA HOOD!!!! MY HOOD!!!! tha guy in tha civic was like "your **** is on FIRE", i pulled into wendys parking lott, and shut the car off, popped the hood, (LUCKLY no flames or fire) but my exhaust manifold and exhaust housing for the turbo were glowing red like an eye on a stove.

WTF?!?!?!?! scared the hell outta me, made my whole engine bay glow!! so i left the car there until 10am that morning so it could cool down completely. got in it, started it, and still runs just fine. for now!! what made it get so hot?!?! that can't be normal, i've raced many many many times before, and that has never happened?!?! i wish i could've got a pic.

Nice way to be stupid on public roads. Don't you kids understand the dangers and how MANY things can happen that you have absolutely NO control over?

If you want to race some other guy - go to the **** track and don't be a fool. I only wish that either you would've lost your license over this stunt and prevent the chance of doing it again and killing an innocent bystander or family in another vehicle.

Now, technically speaking, what caused the hot side of your compressor housing to do that is excessive exhaust gas temps (EGT's). Obviously you're not expelling that air fast enough. Upgrade the diameter of your exhaust piping from the compressor back and I would suggest having a EGT gauge (a must for boosted vehicles) to monitor those temperatures.

And how hard is it to install this gauge.

More so where does the sensor connect to?

ok sorry to get you upset bout the racing. i do understand i can get hurt as well as other people, but again im sorry. I can't go to the track at 2 am. and most people don't have the time to go to the track. street races are (in my case) random. and could happen any time. but enough bout that

I have a 3" exhaust so how would i increase my exahust size?!?!

also, after driving the car a day later. and taking it very easy. the car stilll smells like something is burning! it doesn't smell like oil or gas. it smells like the manifold gettin hot. WTF?!

Then go to the track on a Friday evening and get your rush then. Just because its "more convenient" for you to act like a dumbshit on the road doesn't make it "convenient" to someone that gets killed because of your ignorance.

No but the majorities of laws are complete bull ***...... It is illegal to throw a pickel onto the road in Mississippi.....

Would you like to know how to minimize the amount of gang related violence....? Legalize all the drugs.... People wouldn't be fighting over it, and it would make the streets alot safer... In Canada, codeine is legal to buy over the counter, down in the states I know it's not and what do you have? Codeine addtics.... Never in my days have I heard of someone in Canada, walking upto a Pharamacy, buying cough syrup and chugging a bottle to get high.... You can do it, but no one does!

most will run on cylindar 1... you have a hole, and a bung attached... right onto the manifold..or header..

you hook up an egt sensor.. like an o2 sensor, and then in your car you have a guage that will tell you what the temp is..
