2002 Mitsubishi Galant, 2.4 Litre 4 Cylinder

This has probably been discussed on this forum many times, but thought I'd ask anyway. Bought my kid's Galant used. It had been sitting for a long time. Put new bearings on front, and had rotors turned. Wheel had been pulling to one side, and there was a lot of pulsing on braking. It worked for a while but he now has that strong pulsing on brake application, even with mild braking. I am going to put new rotors on, and have heard that this is a problem with this car. What do you think of the drilled and slotted rotors for heat dissapation? Basically, I am looking for advice on what kind of rotors and pads to put on, that will help prevent re-occurence, and last longer. We're hoping for this car to last him thru 4 years of college. It has about 80K on it now. Help!! Thanks in advance.

Even though the rotors are turned, they may be warped and it could cause this problem, I had the same issue. I put Brembo rotors and Akebono pads on and the difference was like night and day. Flushing the brake lines is also recomended if it has not been done in a while. Hope this helps a bit, Phil
